Madrigal. Medium Roast Colombian Coffee

Proper coffee doesn't need a dark roast. Madrigal is a single origin, medium roast Colombian coffee with notes of citrus, chocolate and soft red fruit. Balanced and easy to drink. It's our everyday coffee: smooth served black and just as good with milk. Grown by Asocafé Tatamá in Santuario, Risaralda, and freshly roasted before it reaches you.

FAQ

Why does my coffee taste bitter, and is Madrigal different?

If your coffee tastes harsh or overly bitter, the beans, roast level and brewing method can all play a part. Madrigal is medium roasted for balance rather than relying on a very dark roast for intensity, so you get chocolate, fruit and sweetness alongside the coffee's natural bitterness. Not an impossible bitterness-free cup, just a better balanced one.

Can I get this ground, or only whole bean?

Both. Whole bean stays fresher for longer, but properly ground fresh coffee is still excellent. Choose whichever suits your setup.

What if I usually buy a specific supermarket brand or strength? Will I like this?

If you're used to buying around a medium or intensity 3–4 supermarket coffee, Madrigal will feel familiar in strength while tasting noticeably better.

How fresh is this, really?

Freshly roasted before it reaches you, with the roast date printed on a card in every bag.

Is Madrigal the same as El Tambo or Luna Decaf?

No. Madrigal is the everyday, balanced option. El Tambo is more expressive and fruit forward, better suited to pour over. Luna Decaf is a smooth decaf with the same care and quality.

Which brew method should I start with?

If you're new to brewing, a cafetière is one of the easiest places to start. It's forgiving and doesn't need precise timing or pouring technique. A moka pot is also a great match for Madrigal if you prefer a fuller cup, though it rewards a bit more care. Pour-over methods like V60 give you more control and tend to highlight brighter flavours, but they're more sensitive to grind size and technique. If that brighter style is what you're after, try El Tambo.
