Frequently Asked Questions

Our coffee

What coffees do you sell?

Three single origin Colombian coffees.

Madrigal is round, chocolatey and familiar, grown by the producers of Asocafé Tatamá in Santuario, Risaralda.

El Tambo is brighter and fruitier, grown by Sandra Vallejo on her farm bordering Tatamá National Park.

Luna Decaf is a smooth decaf from producers in Chaparral, Tolima.

Which coffee should I choose?

If you're not sure, start with Madrigal. It's balanced, easy to drink and works black or with milk. Choose El Tambo if you like a brighter, fruitier cup, and Luna Decaf if you're cutting back on caffeine.

When will I get my order?

We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Usually within 1-2 working days.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information.

Delivery times vary depending on your location.

What does single origin mean?

It means the coffee comes from one place rather than being a blend from several countries or regions. Each of our coffees comes from a named farm or community of growers in Colombia, so you know exactly where it's from.

Is it specialty coffee?

Yes.

Our coffees score between 83 and 85 points and were also independently graded in London. Coffee scoring 80 points or more is classed as specialty.

How fresh is your coffee?

Every bag is roasted two to three days before it ships, so it arrives having had a short, natural rest of three to six days, ready to brew. The roast date is printed on a card in every bag.

How should I store my coffee?

Keep it in its resealable bag or an airtight container, somewhere cool, dark and dry. There's no need to keep it in the fridge.

Whole bean, ground and brewing

Do you sell whole bean and ground coffee?

Yes, every coffee comes whole bean or ground, at the same price.

What grind is your ground coffee?

A medium grind. It suits a cafetière, filter machine, pour-over or AeroPress, and works in most home espresso machines with a pressurised basket. For a traditional espresso machine or a bean to cup machine, choose whole bean.

Which coffee works best for my brewing method?

Madrigal and Luna Decaf are great all-rounders for a cafetière, moka pot, espresso and milky drinks. El Tambo shines in a V60 or pour-over, and works well in a cafetière, moka pot and bean to cup machine too. Our coffee guides go into each method.

What sizes do you sell?

250g and 1kg bags. 1kg is the better-value size if you drink a lot of coffee.

Subscriptions

How does the subscription work?

Choose your coffee, size and grind on any product page, select Subscribe & save, and choose how often you'd like it delivered: every 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks. Every delivery costs less than a one-off order. See how our coffee subscription works.

Can I pause, change or cancel my subscription?

Yes. You can pause your subscription, change your coffee or how often it arrives, or cancel anytime from your account. There's no minimum commitment.

Is a subscription worth it?

If you drink coffee regularly, usually yes: you won't run out, every bag arrives fresh, and each delivery costs less than buying one-off. Read our guide: Are coffee subscriptions worth it?

What is the Cycle?

The Cycle opens soon. Join the early access list to be the first to hear about it.

Decaf

How is Luna Decaf decaffeinated?

With a natural process using ethyl acetate, a compound made from sugar cane. It removes over 97% of the caffeine while keeping the coffee's flavour.

Is Luna Decaf caffeine free?

Not completely. Like all decaf, it still contains a small amount of caffeine, as over 97% is removed.
